Braj 84 Kos Yatra — 7 days

The full 252 km parikrama of Braj — twelve forests, twenty-four gardens and the kunds — run properly, with a vehicle alongside you the whole way.

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Mathura

    Yamuna poojan at Vishram Ghat, then Dwarkadhish, Krishna Janmasthan, Potra Kund, Keshav Dev, Pagal Baba, Birla Mandir, Bhuteshwar, Rangeshwar Mahadev, Madhuvan and Kans Kila.

  2. Day 2

    Vrindavan

    Yamuna poojan at Keshi Ghat, then Kalidah, Nidhivan, Banke Bihari, Radha Vallabh, Radha Raman, Shahji, Rangji and Prem Mandir.

  3. Day 3

    Govardhan

    Danghati Temple and Govardhan puja, then Jatipura, Talvan, Kumudvan, Manasi Ganga, Shyam Kund and Radha Kund, Narad Kund, Mukharbind, Kusum Sarovar, Chandra Sarovar, Bahulavan and Luk Luk Daoji.

  4. Day 4

    Deeg and Kamavan

    Deeg Palace and Laxman Mandir, then Kamavan (Kaman) — one of the twelve forests of Braj. Kamavan holds Braj's own Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines, along with Charan Pahari, Balram Kund, Vimal Kund, Gulab Kund and the Nar-Narayan hill.

  5. Day 5

    Barsana, Nandgaon and Kokilavan

    Shriji (Radha Rani) Temple at Barsana, Gehvar Van, Maan Mandir, Rangili Mahal, Mor Kuti and Vrishabhanu Kund. Then Nand Bhawan and Nandeshwar at Nandgaon, Sanket Van, Ter Kadamb, and Kokilavan with Gomti Kund and Kot Van.

  6. Day 6

    Bhadravan and Belvan

    Garuda Govind, Shergarh, Kosi, Phalain, Chaumuha, Surir, Bhadravan, Matvan, Biharvan, Akshay Vat, Tapovan, Cheer Ghat, Belvan, Bansi Vat and the Radha Rani temple there.

  7. Day 7

    Gokul and Raman Reti

    Rawal — Radha Rani's birthplace — then Chandravali Temple, Gokul, Mahavan, Raman Reti, Lohvan, Dauji, Brahmand Ghat and Chaurasi Khamba. The yatra ends with your drop at Mathura station.

Honestly, before you book

  • Day four covers Braj's own Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines at Kamavan — not the Himalayan char dham, which are 400 km away. Some operators list these without explaining the difference and pilgrims arrive expecting the Himalayas.
  • The traditional yatra is walked. Most of our guests walk parts of it and ride the rest; the vehicle stays with the group throughout.
  • Accommodation on the route is simple — dharamshalas and modest hotels. It is clean and it is what exists out there.

About 252 km — 84 kos — taking in twelve forests, twenty-four gardens and the major kunds of Braj.
Do we have to walk the whole way?
No. Traditionally it is walked, and some of our guests do, but the support vehicle is with you the whole route and most people mix walking with riding.
