यमुना जी का चुनरी मनोरथ
Yamuna Ji Chunri Manorath
The offering of a chunri to Yamuna Maharani — a long coloured cloth drawn across the water while the mantras are chanted and the aarti performed.
Vishram Ghat, Mathura — or Keshi Ghat, Vrindavan · About 2 hours
Yamuna is not a river here but a goddess, and the chunri manorath is how devotees dress her. A long chunri is drawn across the water at the ghat while Vedic mantras are chanted and bhajans sung. Flowers, fruit and prasad are offered, and the aarti is performed at the water's edge. We arrange the chunri, the priests, the offerings and the seating, and we coordinate with the ghat so that nothing is hurried.
