चिंताहरण महादेव रुद्राभिषेक एवं दुग्धाभिषेक

Chintaharan Mahadev Rudrabhishek & Dugdhabhishek

Rudrabhishek at Gokul's own Mahadev — the one who takes away worry — with the Rudri paath and milk poured over the lingam.

Chintaharan Mahadev Temple, Gokul · About 2 hours

Chintaharan Mahadev stands in Gokul and the name means exactly what it says: the remover of chinta, of worry. Krishna's family are said to have worshipped here. The rudrabhishek is performed with the Rudri paath while milk, curd, ghee, honey and Yamuna jal are poured over the lingam in turn. Mondays and Shivaratri are the days for it, and they fill up. Most families who come for this have something specific weighing on them, and we will give you the time to sit with it rather than moving you along.
